1. Research the Company
Familiarize yourself with the company’s history, products, services, culture, maturity level, and industry by visiting its corporate website, LinkedIn page, Crunchbase, Glassdoor, Dun & Bradstreet, and other relevant sources. Show your interest in the company and be ready to talk about its business.
2. Review the job description
Make sure you understand the requirements, responsibilities, and expectations of the job by reviewing the description and matching it to your skills, attitudes, and experience.
3. Research the interviewer
Learn about the interviewer by checking their profile on LinkedIn or other sources. Try to find common interests to build a rapport and create a positive impression.
4. Prepare for common interview questions
Review the most common interview questions and prepare answers ahead of time, including “Tell me about yourself”, “Why do you want to work here”, and “What are your weaknesses”. For more technical interviews, research questions specific to your skills.
5. Prepare questions to ask the interviewer
Ask insightful questions about the company and the role to show your interest and clarify any topics of concern to you. Examples include “Why are you hiring for this position?”, “How do you define hybrid?”, “How would you describe the company culture?”.
Don’t forget to follow up with a thank you email after the interview.
